Australian Navy surplus coveralls, manufactured by the Commonwealth Government Clothing Factory ("C.G.C.F.") circa 1960s. The C.G.C.F. factory in Southbank, Melbourne produced clothing for government use between 1912 and its closure in 1971. Although no date mark was found on the garment, its details are relatively modern and we estimate its date to be around the 1960s.

The coveralls are made from a thick, dark navy cotton drill, and have a covered, button up front. The point collar can be worn buttoned up, open, or folded down, and button tabs at the cuff and hem allow the fit of the sleeves and leg to be adjusted slightly. The coveralls can also be taken in via a waist belt if desired, or left loose. The garment has many pockets, with two at the breast, two hand pockets at the side seam, one patch pocket on the back and several more on the side of the leg. There are eyelet holes at the underarms to help the garment breathe better.

It should be noted that there are a number of large stains on the garment from use (see pictures), but this does not detract from the overall impression and the coveralls remain in decent, wearable condition overall.
